GE Dryer

Working on a GE dryer that displays the e-61 code.  The manual says that L2 and neutral is wired incorrect.  Checked all the wiring at the board and at the wall and it is correct.  Anyone has any suggestions.

Has this Dryer worked OK at this location up until now ?

Yes It has been there awhile.  I found that the e-61 code mean that L2 and neutral are reversed. Checked that before I left.  Also that lightning can blow the board and cause this.  Is this correct or am I barking up the wrong tree?

Thanks....

Have you measured the supply voltage with your meter?

Yes, 240 at the wall and at the board with neutral.

Hmm, I wonder if its wittle silicon brains done got scrambled by a power surge. Try entering service mode and then coming back out.

Also, may have lost programming for the control board. Kill power, open panel, disconnect harnesses to control board, reconnect, re-apply power. If the display shows "---" it means the board has to programmed for the model. See below:

To program the replacement control board:

1. Reconnect power to the dryer. (The display will

now show 11 11, which means no model has

been selected.)

2. Rotate the cycle knob until the correct model

number is displayed:

• Select 1 for model DHDVH52EF/GF

• Select 2 for model DBVH512EF/GF

• Select 3 for model DCVH515EF/GF

3. Press and hold the Start/Pause key for 3

seconds. (The control will beep, indicating the

new model number has been successfully

programmed.)

4. Press the Power button to return to the test

selection mode.

Note: If an error is made in programming the

control, enter test mode and select Tal. Then repeat

steps 1 thru 3.

Just wanted to update all that helped me with this.  Like I said in the first post I checked all the electrical even at the board and all was correct.  Replaced board and all is good.

Thanks
