Checked this reffer. Found no power to the buttons on the door, no light or ice or water. Everything is working, making ice and freezing well.

Checked continuity from control board on back to harness connector's on top. All the wires are good and the connector's looks intact and clean.

No diagram or chart on unit. What voltage and at what pins should I look for?

Does this sound like the control board or the dispensor area?

I'm begining to think these GE reffers are a major cash cow. Cha-Ching!!!!

some voltage info on the GE Artica Knob Control 31-9071 wiring diagram

Checked the info I have on the artica. Looks like a 12 v dc circuit. If I have 12 v input to the board ( I'll check tommorrow) I should have a light and dispensor action. If no volts I've got a bad control board, if voltage, I've got a bad dispensor board. Sound right?:?

Looked up parts search. Touchpad  dispensor control. Also read about the lock out button. The light should work even if its locked out. (Thats a question!)

Still beating this!:whipit: Found a better manual in the stash. Says 13 vdc between red and black @ connector at top. No volts, bad control. Good volts, bad dispensor board or connector @ board. Will check tommorrow and repost.

...........Thanks for letting me ramble!

So you're getting voltage to the dispenser board, connector at the freezer bottom hinge looks good but no action at the dispenser? Does indeed sound like a bad dispenser board.

Connector is @ top hinge on this model. Will determine volts tommorrow.

Thanks master!

Got back to this reffer and found 13 vdc to dispensor board. Will order and replace next week.

Thanks to the Samurai and his stash!!!

As you say "Cash Cows" yes indeed.

This is a great opportunity to build your customer loyalty and possibly make some extra money.

I'm not saying "screw the customer over"

But As you may or may not know the dispenser flapper coil only this unit is a weak link. Although it maybe working fine presently does it have signs of rust beginning to form?

By informing the customer that it does (if it does) and the inevitable failure down the road let them make the decision if they want it replaced or not. Even if they don't they will remember you when it does fail and call you again because you simple took the time to instruct them...trust me, loyal customers go a long way.
