LG Mini Split LMU240CE and LMAN120CNS Dual Zone Artcool Freezes Up

RE: LG Mini Split LMU240CE and LMAN120CNS

There seems to be no information about these Artcool units anywhere- even the service manual is not that great. Thanks Samarai for the manual help! The error codes I received meant the indoor coil temperature sensor was failing. What actually happened was that the wiring for the 2 indoor units was reversed. I.e., the sensors on unit 1 were turning on compressor #2, and vice versa. So if 1 unit was off, it would get cold freon pumped into it until it froze up and flashed this dummy temp sensor error.

I can't believe this isn't in the service manual, as I'm sure it happens quite often to people. Following the error codes will just leave you confused and broke. I am only out another $220 to my AC tech and extra copper lines, could be worse. But I post this so others can find it. CH02 or CH06 error codes, frozen up AC unit that is turned off = reversed high voltage lines at the AC compressor terminals. These are the 4 color electrical lines that run to each internal unit. Let me know if you are helped by this info!!! -Matt

I have the outdoor condenser unit dual zone 24KBTU LMU240CE and the indoor units are 12KBTU LMAN120CNS "Artcool" units.

The indoor units freeze up sometimes if the 2 zones are set to different temperatures, or just 1 unit is turned on. One line set is a little short. I have no idea if this is normal since LG provides no operating information and the troubleshooting section is pathetic.

Does anyone have any technical documents on troubleshooting these units? I get error codes CH2 flashing when the unit freezes up, then it shuts off. Gonna pay $300 to extend the unit lines if I can't find anything else.

Thanks all for your help!
