I’m missing something in the current appliance marketing philosophy. The new WP front load washer has busted the $1500 mark, appliances don’t last but 2-5 years, and parts are so expensive it makes an appliance tech blush to add labor on top. I see a steady supply of top loaders headed to the dump.

What's going on?

The sheep have been convinced that "upgrading" is the thing to do, also there is little choice as the T/L's are being phased out

Makes me grin, Tuco.

When appliances are *so* expensive---the only real option is to repair it.

This is job security.

I made it a priority to learn about these high tech appliances.

Think of it as being the difference between a Chevy technician and a BMW technician---one of those two makes more income than the other...
