Dryer Inglis IJ82001 (Same as Maytag, Whirlpool) stops after running for 4 seconds

Gurus, Samurai's ,Shoguns and fellow Grasshoppers,

A Inglis IJ82001 dryer (Same as Maytag, Whirlpool) stops after running for 4 seconds after pushing the start button. The dryer emits a bit of a burning smell and when the dryer stops it sounds like an overload switch is cutting out operation. After opening up the unit, the bottom of unit is covered in 1/2 " of lint and the rear drum sealed is mangled. I was wondering if I fix these 2 problems, if there is anything other problems in the unit that could be causing the unit to stop.
