Hi there,

On top of yesterday's fridge problem, the washing m/c is also playing up.

Do you have the service manual for a Fisher and Paykel IW712 washing machine available?

I've called the service guys and they'll be a week, so may as well have a look myself first.

Thanks

Tim

does it drain at all ?

if the pump runs for a while and then overheats then its time for a new drain pump

if it doesnt run at all and makes bad noises then prob something stuck in there

easy enough to remove anyway , hold the locking tab and rotate the pump and remove from the bottom

Thanks for that J5.

Yes it drains for a while and then stops.

I'm not sure of the names of parts, but I checked both the inlet/recycle solenoid and the drain pump.

The solenoid was blocked with a little bit of plastic so I cleared that, and the pump seemed to be clear.

The pump still seems to be failing, so I guess it may be time for a new drain pump.
