:whoops: All thumbs tonight. Start button was dislodged from holder. Unit continued to run even with timer in off position. Customer said unit was being cut on and off at breaker. Customer said that there was a chattering noise coming from somewhere in the back of the unit. Contactor chatter I guess. Unit shut down over the winter. Returned start switch to holder and checked continuity. Continuity OK. Unit will not power back up when start button pushed. Unit has dual timers for heat and cool down cycle with indicator lights. Lights do not light when timer activated(they should). Started taking voltage readings and found that when I checked voltage on the brown wire to ground on the start switch, the fan and tumbler motor started. Did this through the multimeter! Removed brown wire from switch and jumped to ground and the damn thing started up again. Didn't hold connection long enough to see if burner would come on. This thing has a reversing tumbler operated by a rocker switch. Reversing contactors for tumbler are activated, depending on switch location, when brown wire is jumped to ground. Fan motor contactor is activated also. Could bad Solid State Timer cause this problem?? Or could it be the relay. Can't figure out why start switch doesn't activate relay and indicator lights when pushed but will start motors when jumped to ground. Any suggestions??
