We have a big wall unit air conditioner that was freezing up, so we unplugged it, cleaned it out, and now it will not turn on. The light on the plug is green and we've tested/reset the plug several times and still nothing. Any advice?

How did you clean it ? what did you take apart? what chemicals?

We pulled it out of the wall, rinsed the coils off with water - didn't think we got anything wet that wasn't already wet. No chemicals or anything and didn't take it apart other than the plastic case. Hope that helps, sorry, I'm pretty much an idiot when it comes to this stuff!

so the panel is unresponsive completely? no lights, no sounds?

May have jarred a wire loose on the controls or they may have gotten wet.

you will probably have to do some tear down and inspect the circuitry in the

control housing and probably do some voltage checks.

If the controls are wet you can dry them out with a blow dryer

unplug the unit before dissassembly

Yes, no response - usually the light for "off" is lit but no lights are lit other than the one on the plug. Nothing looks wet but who knows... we've waited about 7 hours for anything to dry out and seeing how it's 105+ degrees with low humidity (Oklahoma) I would think things should dry pretty quickly. I'll check to see if anything is loose though, thanks for the advice!

the first thing to check is to ensure that power is making it to the control through the cord. its not uncommon for those cords to go bad even if the green light is on.
