Ice buildup in bottom of freezer. Water to ice maker is cut off. Defrost drain is clear. Door gasket good. Clear out ice and in 48 hrs it has returned. Owner says freezer appears to sweat. Saw a post a few months ago about the same issue but no definitive answer. Anyone got any ideas why this POS continues to do this? Has had new control board and evaporator fan installed in the last 12 months.

Did you get a number on freezer temperature?

Possible that the owner has something in there that's spilling?

How about the door hinges? Door closing properly, pulling itself in?

Do they have kids? Kids are famous for camping out in front of the fridge with the door open.

No kids. Door passes dollar bill test. Only thing in freezer not frozen is a bottle of Tangueray gin. Freezer temp on display is four and confirmed the old fashioned way. This one is really gettin' on my nerves. Acts exactly like a frozen defrost drain except the drain is clear. Could board be screwing up and defrosting while compressor is still running??

I have seen that happen once but never resulted in what you are describing.

door chute ok?

water shut off meaning at the wall or at the icemaker?

have seen leaking valves in conjunction with a cracked

fill tube allow water to run down the evap.

causing same symptoms.

so the ice is on the freezer floor and not in the evap. tray?

Customer said the answer "sweat" Meaning warm air is getting in

check the gap between the liner and metal frame were the gaskets seat.

if you can fit a dime in the gap then the gap should be filled with

a food grade silicone. Whirlpool had this same type of problem for a while

also you can add a nipple to the end of the defrost drain tube so warm air doesn't

enter that way but still allowing the water to drain.

Had forgot about warm air getting in through the drain tube. Whirlpool had that problem a few years back. Remember Pegi commenting on it. Thanks for the tip. OBTW, what happened to Pegi?
