There and Back Again, a Thanksgiving ode

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

In my best Lawerence Welk voice (young uns, look him up on youtube)...., "This time, a short Thanksgiving tribute to those of us who sacrifice family holiday time to help beleaguered customers "

There and Back Again,

The Travels Triumphs and Tributes of an Appliance Repairman

(travel)

Over the river and through the woods

To customer's house you go

You know the way

'Cause GPS say

"Turn right, keep straight, go slow...ohhh! (everybody join in and hold the note to signify passage of time and for dramatic effect).....ooohhhh!"

(triumph)

Over more rivers and through more woods

Then rightly herald as "king!"

As customer bakes

A turkey, a cake

In an oven once stuck in Self-Clean.

(tribute)

Over the rivers and through the woods

Back to your house you go

To give thanks and pray

This Thanksgiving day,

For being blessed with a job you love so.

Temporarily fixed an oven door with broken hinges using a ratchet strap tonight....I'm King for a day, once again. Happy Thanksgiving!

Hell the king.  go have a bird, you deserve it ( does your mind ever slow down?)

Thanks for the blessing, Brother Durham.  I apologize for my absence over the past two "Pre-Thanksgiving Hell Weeks" as I affectionately call them.  All Appliantologists are extremely busy at this time of year and abundantly happy to be so but Wow!  Between the incoming calls and "flash mob" type walk-in traffic for part and appliance sales, shop work, and even myself hitting the road with the additional service call and delivery load, it's been non-stop.

So, as the fog from the self induced Triptofan coma dissipates and I slowly return to my senses, I hope all you other survivors had a safe and fruitful Thanksgiving.

Hello, my infidel brother PDuff.  May I say that my four wives, 17 children and varying herd of yak and fine breeding camels are all delighted to see you back.  May Allah, the compassionate and merciful, grant you conversion to Islam and thence all the virginal little boys that your heart desires in Paradise.
