Need tech sheet or service manual. Owner purchased new from DirectBuy and the damn thing is broken right out of the box. Will not fill with water. Jumped out the inlet valves and they work. No voltage from the control board to valves. Also has a diode in the water inlet. Don't know what the hell it's for. Whirlpools used to be pretty simple but this one looks like an over engineered GE with made in China stickers all over it.

The diode is probably used for the same reason as some Frigidaire refrigerator inlet valves. Keeps electricity from re-entering the circuit after the valve closes, which would energize the valve and cause it to leak.

no Diodes shown on the wiring diagram ..

there is a Wire Harness of some sort that connects the Water Valves ...

Thanks Reg. Tech Sheet says the "diode" is a temperature thermistor. Starting to hate this new Whirly already.

Whirlpool gave owners the run around on warranty service.A&E is two and a half hours away so they won't come just for the one call. Owners son started Tweetin' about the run around they were getting. Whirlpool just called owner and told them they would provide the parts and reimburse them if they could get someone (me)to install them. An Appliance Spring maybe??
