Hi, here's one that has me confused - surprise surprise right? The complaint on this one is that an ice ball forms on the metal yoke that connects to the auger. The customer says the ice ball grows untill it pushes the ice bin far enough foreward to stop the auger from working. He breaks the ice ball off and a week or two later he has another ice ball.

Ice production is normal, cubes look great, no visible signs of a leak anywhere, no other problems just an ice ball about half the size of a golf ball. Any ideas?

double check model number could the "r" and the "d" be transposed?

Either the ice maker, the water valve or the something going on with the water tube/fill cup transition. If it's the ice maker or water valve dripping. Usually the drips are imperceptible. You may just have to change out the valve just to eliminate it as the culprit. Also engage a harvest cycle and watch the water enter the ice maker. I've had a situation where the water entered with such force that water splashed along the sides of the fill cup causing icing around the ice bucket. After I discovered this, the customer said,,"oh yeah...Our water pressure has gone up for some reason." Turned down the faucet and solved the problem.

It's allways possible I "misspelled" the number, but I typed it like I wrote it so...I'll check again to see if I can find a drip but it just seems like an odd place for water to leak and it's not an icicle, it's nearly round and formed between the 2 fingers. Thanks for the help and I'll check on it again tomorrow. Cuz
