sorry - KBRS22KGBT4.

Freezer works, warm fridge and no fan sound.

Cleaned underneath and let it sit unpowered 48 hours - no change.

I'm thinking fan motor based on the troubleshooting flowchart posted hereabouts - I just feel better digging in if I have diagrams to know where I'm going.

both Fans should run when the Compressor is running

So if I'm hearing no fan noise whatsoever, should I be looking at the compressor?

Freezer Temperature Control (and through Defrost Timer)

controls the Compressor and both Fans.

Is the Compressor or either Fan running ?

Posted

Nope - no noise whatsoever. By the way, thank you for the help if I forget to say so later!

That's what I was thinking too so I tested it overnight and it isn't. I must've caught it right after it failed and before the freezer compartment had a chance to warm up.

So no sound or cooling anywhere.

either it's in a 25 minute Defrost cycle,

bad Defrost Timer,

OR bad Freezer Cold Control

Posted

Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but by "freezer cold control" do you mean the thermostat?

Posted

yes

Posted

Thanks. Are both parts fairly obvious behind the freezer liner, or will I need diagrams?

Posted

Good call on the thermostat - that fixed it. Thanks again for the help!
