Don't know if you have already figured this out but I just worked on one of these last night.

The square drive just unscrews from the coupler that goes between the motor shaft and the square drive, (with the slinger plate between the square drive and coupler), standard lefty loosey to remove.

Had to hold onto the fan with a rag at the bottom after removing the bottom air-inlet cover to unscrew square drive, it came apart real easy, (I was told it was a 31 year old blender).
