Google custom search box?

Hey, what happened to the old search? This box is useless for me.. Can we bring back the old search box? Please? I feel seriously disabled

The old search is still in the mobile theme. How exactly do you feel handicapped? What's an example of a search that you tried in the Google box with unsatisfactory results?

Any model number ive tried so far is no worky. I cant search old posts of mine. Its been really unsuccessful for me. Trying to search out manuals in the download section is impossible for me also. Ill do some searches and post back some results. I loved the old search feature. It worked perfectly.

For example, I search model # KSRS25ILSS03, Kitchen Aid reefer. No results. KDUDT4860A02, Thermador Reefer, same. I guess theyre all model numbers nobodys ever posted about before. Im not sure. What started it all off was I was looking for a svc manual for this articulating viking vent hood. I found it eventually, it had been pm'd to me by you yourself. Thanks again btw

Alright, I'll put the old search box back tonight. Need to sober up a bit before I mess with code, though, or I'm liable to screw stuff up big time.

Well by all means, you better wait till the morning! Or the weekend! Don't ruin your good time to write code! Ill survive! No worries! Thank you though, I happily await the old perfect (for me) search feature. I could see how people who didn't know how to use the site might get confused by it. Seeing how you had to specify what section of the site to search etc etc. Hell, Id be satisfied with a post somewhere that had a search box embedded in it. Doesnt have to occupy prime real estate or nothin. Apparently Im the only one missing it anyways!

it would also be nice if it recognized the * (wild card)

and / or assumed the wild card at the end of all search words

"KSRS25" would find all instances
