To the Dojo,

I've got this fridge with this valve (http://www.repairclinic.com/PartDetail/Water-Inlet-Valve/241734301/1259226?modelNumber=FSC23R5DSBC); fresh water and ice maker are getting 120VAC, but the filter solenoid gets only 80VAC. This valve setup has diodes in the dispenser wiring, and this is my first encounter with them. Have any guys out there had experience with this problem? Do I clip out the water filter section of the wiring harness and replace it with new; I haven't seen a hank of replacement wiring at RepairClinic or SearsPartsDirect, so how does we solve this problem?

Domos in advance,

RedToryTy

... but the filter solenoid gets only 80VAC. This valve setup has diodes in the dispenser wiring,

that's about right ... the Diodes change the voltage to pulsing DC .. it's hard to accurately read that voltage

What's the problem with the Water dispensing ?

80VAC at water filter solenoid = no water dispensed either through the door or at the icemaker.

probably bad Valve ...

Did you test it's OHMs ?

should be 500 OHJMs to 1500 OHMs

You could also try removing the IceMaker Valve connector (Blue & Yellow ?)

and place it on the Main Water Valve (Blue and Tan/Yellow ?)

Then try the Water Dispenser
