murfndbox Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 I have a GE Dishwasher PDW8680N20SS (my son's) that was not draining. I checked all the hoses and see no blockages. I replaced the discharge pump but now when I attempt to test it, there is only a high pitch squeal and none of the control panel lights come on. I think I replaced the pump connectors correctly and re-connected the power supply wires correctly. Any idea what the noise is? I couldn't find a service manual or wiring diagram on the website for this dishwasher. Thanks

murfndbox Posted December 11, 2012 Author Posted December 11, 2012 Thanks for the manual link; it is the correct one. I attempted to get the dishwasher to enter "test mode" but it does not seem to respond to anything. None of the panel lights are on - the only thing I notice is a very high-pitched squeal coming from the control panel. Any idea what that is or what might be causing it?
Team Samurai Samurai Appliance Repair Man Posted December 11, 2012 Team Samurai Posted December 11, 2012 High pitched squeal and not responding to test mode are classic signs of a bad control board on this model ==> http://www.repairclinic.com/PartDetail/Main-Control-Board/WD21X10369/1475280?modelNumber=PDW8680N20SS 1
