Last I checked, it's working fine. Did you follow the instructions carefully in the email and set up your xdrive account, including your name? If so, then you should be all set. Just go to http://xdrive.com and log in, should see the manuals in your file listing.

Resent. Check your inbox and your junk mail folder. If you're still not getting it, lower your spam filter settings and I'll re-send again. Or PM me a different email address to try.

Have you made certain that you added your name in your Xdrive account, as instructed in the introductory email? If you don't do this, you show up in my share list as ::private:: Since I don't know who ::private:: is, I delete this. I've done this twice since you subscribed. Maybe it's you?

Maybe the problem is that I subscribed using my wife's email eko@hwines.com but then registered using my email, john@ridgewine.com ?

I sent the Xdrive access link to your ridgewine email.

So, when you log into Xdrive and you go to My Account and then My Profile, you see your name in the "Account Name" field?

Yes.

Account name: John Olney

Login Email address: john@ridgewine.com

My password is XXXXXX. Maybe you should login to see if I'm missing something?

My dear friend, will you please send the Samurai a PM with your password??  Thanks so much.....

No sure what that is, but I couldn't log in with that information.

I sent you another access link. If you use it and see the files but I see someone in my share list as ::private::, I'll know you don't have your account set up properly.

Ok--thanks.

Back to the washer, one thing has been bugging me. I moved this dishwasher about two miles in a pick-up. Before the move it worked great. During the move, the electric clip on the yellow lead to the capacitor got bent pretty severely.

I re-bent it, and its associated prong on the capacitor, back in shape--connection seems tight. When I replaced the bad heat element, the long cycle delay (20 minutes) that happened at 60 minutes improved. Now the hangup is at 46 minutes. Could a bad connection at the capacitor relate to the extended cycle?

The wiring diagram specs 23.5 mF at the capacitor. I don't recognize the units so can't check.

What's the model number on this dishwasher?

This is the Point Voyager design from Whirlpool-- there's no capacitor on this machine. There are, however, turbidity and temperature sensors that, if malfunctioning, can cause the problem you're having. Post a picture of the part you're talking about.

In the Kitchen Appliance Forum look at the last post for subject Whirlpool Dishwasher Dec 19th to katherinemay written by Pegi.

She givews a link to the spec sheet for the GU1500 that shows a capacitor mounted to the side of the wash motor. That's the part I'm referring to that was bent and bumped.

You are correctum! That's what I get for working from memory and not reviewing the schematic.

This page will show you how to test the capacitor. It's unlikely that's the problem, however, because if it were bad, the washer motor wouldn't run. And I'm assuming the wash motor does run, right?

Yes--the wash motor definitely runs--that's actually the problem. It sticks specifically when it reaches 60 minutes and 46 minutes left in the normal cycle. It runs for about 6 minutes at 60 ( as in it doesn't tick down to 59,58,57...) and then 15 minutes at 46 minutes showing on the panel.

And guess what? It completes the wash just over 20 minutes late. It takes about 95 minutes for it to do a wash that the display says should be done in 73 minutes. I've run dirty dishes, clean dishes and no dishes--exact same results.

Yanno, this sounds an awful lot like water heating delay. Are you running the hot water in the sink 'till it's hot before running the dishwasher? If not, that initial charge of water will be cold and the dishwasher will run while it's heating the water to 140F, resulting in a run-time delay. If the dishwasher is working fine otherwise, then that's probably what's happening.
