Okay this is my fault I was reheating some fast food and did not realize the sandwich was wrapped in foil paper. It looks like the microwave completed the reheat cycle and died. yes it sparked and there a small amount of black smoke inside the unit. there is no power to the unit but I do have power coming out of the wall. no lights or lcd on microwave. I took the control panel off the front and remove the small white ceramic fuse and verified that it is good it has continuity so it's not the fuse.

whats next to check.... thanks

should I dismount the unit from the wall and try to take apart the back where the power cable comes in and look for another fuse there?

Problem Solved. Thermal cut off at the top by the exhaust grill was bad. Probably the small fire toasted it......yes, pun intended.

Jumped the tco while part comes in. Micro works fine now.

Also, did not have to lower or remove from wall. Fuse and tco's accessible from front.
