It's not readily obvious how to make a donation. I have a couple of other times but have to find a post that has a link. A Tab labeled donations or beer fund would be handy.
On one hand I hate sites that are always trying to get money from you. But, on the other hand, I've spent awhile looking for how to and it's just not obvious. Obvious will get you more funds in my opinion.

If there's a different home page to log into please send me the link

When I go to the site below I see the above tabs. There is a parts search box. No beer, or, donations tab.

I'm not sure what's up, but, maybe I should revise my suggestion to:

http://appliantology.org

Needs a donations tab.

Very interesting, tp, I wonder how many other people are seeing a limited site as you seem to be.  As Reg mentioned, you should be seeing something very similar to the screen shot he posted.

Can you post a screen shot of what you're seeing when you go to the home page (and, yes, you are going to the correct home page, the one and only www.Appliantology.org)?

Also, which browser are you using?

I have a laptop computer that runs Windows 7.  I use Internet Exploder for my browser on that laptop because it works well on that particular machine and, for some reason, Chrome runs like doo-doo on that one.  In general, I encourage people to use Chrome because it is the best browser out there, regardless of platform.  I use Chrome almost exclusively when I'm on my iMac (on iPhone and iPad, I still use Shitfarai because I'm too lazy to migrate to the Chrome app).

I'm on my office computer and it shows as you suggested it should. Both PCs are running windows 7.

I went and got my laptop 16" running windows 7 and logged back in to make sure i was dreaming cause it was late. It's still the same, doesn't show as it does on my desktop. My laptop is where I view most of your post, at least I'm glad to know I'm logging in the same place as everyone else.

I also use Firefox as a browser.

Everytime I have tried to post a screen shot everything changes.

Post number 3 is actually a screen shot that is barely reconizable after pasteing. It changed the banner color and lined the tabs up and down instead of across like I'm actually seeing them. The site looks great until I try to paste the screen shot.

I'll try Chrome on my laptop and see if it shows different.

Sounds like your laptop may be stuck in mobile theme.  You can switch to the full version using the link at the bottom of the page, as shown below:

It shows correctly in Chrome, and internet explorer on this laptop.

Shows on my desktop in Firefox just not this laptop.

No option to select full version like I do on ipad. Looks like full version anyway just missing that 1 part.

Changed theme and that did nothing to help.

It must be a setting in the version of Thunderbird I have loaded on this laptop.

I think I might start trying out Chrome for awhile.

Seems like it works for everyone but me on laptop with firefox. Others browser work show it fine. Desktop works fine with firefox.

Hey if something weird can happen to someone it's me. Thanks for help guys, I'll just not use firefox on this computer if I want to make a donation.

Had to figure out  how to get you this picture, so, here it is. I don't expect a response cause I think it's a rare instance possibly a setting in this browser I have changed. I really am just using this post to figure out how to get a web page picture in a post.

As you can see from the picture it was impossible to make a donation.

Great job on the screen shot!  Hmm, that's a weird one-- you're getting the full site, it's just that the search block and menu have somehow been "weeded out."  Just curious:  do you have ad-blocking enabled in that particular browser?  Not that the search block is an ad-- it's just HTML code like the rest of the site but I'm wondering if the browser is interpreting it as one.

Posted (edited)

Yes, I do have add blocking set on laptop, but not on office pc which shows normal. Good point. I'll check that out later this evening. If that's the case then others may not be seeing it either. That make a lot of sense. I don't have ad blocking set on anything except that laptops Firefox browser cause I use it so much.

If I edit this post when I have my findings will you know or will I need to post a new reply? Trying to not have so many post each time I have a thought. It starts to look like I'm talking to myself.

Good info!  Not sure why the header block (with the parts search box and line menu beneath it) would be considered an ad by the blocking software-- that's hand-coded stuff that I wrote myself.   But it's good to know and be aware of.

And, BTW, mucho domos for you generous love-offering to my flavorite charity!   :pint1:  :thanks:

Wow, tp, that was an a tremendous tip on Adblock Plus!  I downloaded the plug-in for Chrome and, sho nuff, the parts search box and the top and bottom of the pages stopped showing up.  It appears to be a very popular plug-in so no telling how many people weren't seeing the parts search boxes and the line menus with them!  I made a little adjustment to the template code and, walla!, the boxes and menus now appear even with Adblock enabled.  That problem would have never even appeared on my radar if you hadn't raised the issue by starting this topic so I owe you a huge MEGA-DOMO!    :rocker:  :thanks:
