Already found and have all those, the rapid resolution guides gave me another part# I didn't have from the parts break down for the sensor, (appears in both AAPN and ABPN builds both refrig and freezer temp and defrost sensors can all use DA32-10109W).

 

I was hoping to find a detailed service manual that covers the RFG297* that shows more details about diagnostics and what the motherboard does when it finds one of the sensors open/shorted, (if it goes into some default mode?).

Samsung fridges ALWAYS performs sensor checks at start up. This is also the reason you must record any error codes before unplugging fridge as it erases previous codes.

Also, from samsung training manual:

"Defrost Sensor–The sensor shuts off heater At 50in Freezer, 63in Fridge –If the sensor is bad it may shut off the defrost circuit in a few minutes or not start, causing ice build-up, or it could lock up in defrost mode and become a total no cool . Note: A defective sensor may check OK at room temperature, test at operating temperature. "

btw, for clarity any open/shorted sensors on a Samsung can cause a fridge lock up, not just the defrost sensors.
