I got the manual for KSSC48QMS02 from Durham and we think it may be compatible for the issue at hand:

 

Power Outage occurred in client's region. When power came back the refrigerator compressor would not start. Self diagnostic mode by the tech sheet showed compressor failure. I checked input voltage to inverter at 120v and output voltage to compressor at 65v. So I diagnosed a bad inverter since it was not putting out 230v.

 

Then the Samurai and Durham reminded me that these compressors are variable (due to ridiculous government regulations that wreck havoc while attempting to save the planet) and do not operate at 230v full time. I need to go back and check the DCv communication circuit between the motherboard and inverter board. Will the manual I downloaded tell me the correct connection points to test with my voltmeter?

 

KSSC48QMS02 (year 2003) Downloaded

 

KSSC48FKS00 (year 2001) Don't have this manual but is the one above compatible?

just pull up the diagrams on both and check to see if boards and interface are the same. If so, the models should be sufficiently compatible. Hopefully, however, Bro Reg will find your exact manual.

Okay. Just trying to have it diagnosed correctly, once and for all, when I get there. There is a tech sheet in the unit. That is the only diagram for it I have access to.
