The end of last summer the A/C bit the dust. A friend of my son came over & since the cooling fan wasn't turning he diagnosed a bad capacitor. I went to grainger & got a new one that is a little smaller in size but with the same rating. I just finally got around to installing it ( by wireing diagram) & now when I turn on the A/C all I get is a relay chatter. What's the next troubleshooting step?

By relay chatter, do you mean the contactor?

Do you by chance have a transformer in the control box with the contactor and new capacitor?
