VERY slow drying Maytag dryer model #LDE9413ACE

After a month of VERY slow (i.e. taking forever to dry even a light load) issues with the dryer I decided to get some info on if this was really a problem (as I thought) or just a problem in my head (as my hubby wanted to think).  Got on line and read a message about water in a dryer vent hose, mentioned this to my hubby who nicely agreed to humor me a check -- low and behold there was about a quart of very dark and fairly stinky water in there.  Okay, so now he and I are in agreement that there is something wrong with our dryer (again maytag LDE9413ACE).  But what?

Also, is it necessary to change the vent hose or can we just clean it with some vinegar or bleach?

More importantly hat do we need to check out with the dryer?  What might we need to fix?  Help?!?!?!?!?!

And THANKS!!!!

NOthing wrong with the dryer, the problem is your dryer vent, need to fix that, not the dryer...
