Dear Samurais,

I have a Bryant heat pump model#213ana024-c.Its making a noise like a fan blade is lightly hitting something metal. The units condenser fan is not hitting anything so Iam not sure what this is.It doesnt warm the house properly and goes to emergency heat most of the time. The unit also will shut off and on.During summer it seemd to cool the house ok.If I turn it on cool it sounds normal

Thank you,

SAMANERA

I wonder if it may have something to do with the reversing valve. Good question.

"The unit also will shut off and on"

Do you mean short cycling?

What is the lowest outside ambient temperature, when using in heat mode?

"Its making a noise like a fan blade is lightly hitting something metal"

In the AH? Or elsewhere?

Thank you guys,

It is the outside unit that Iam referring to.The temperature outside is 40 degrees.I gues it is short cycling.I was told it isnt reversin.Does a reversing valve require sealed system work?

Yeah if it is not just the solenoid and something internal broke

If your solenoid is weak or getting hot and chattering that could be the noise you hear
