Whirlpool CAM2752TQ0 Commercial Top Loader (direct drive transmission)

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I own a laundromat and we are having problems with 2 of my top loaders with direct drive transmission that we recently repaired.

We changed almost everything on them; motor coupler, basket drive, drive block, clutch & even transmission on one of them.

They worked fine for a couple of days after the repair but then they couldn't spin, leaving the loads soaked.

The water fills, agitates, drains but doesn't spin. It fills again, agitates and drains then no spin, just humming.

But if we open the lid during the humming and close it back, the basket starts to spin and goes through the cycle.

The checked the clutch again and everything seems to be ok with the correct spring for that size machine.

Any advice will  be appreciated.

Thanks.

James.

Is your timer pausing during the spin cycle?

Part number: AP3967788

Part number: AP3967788

Sounds like it isn't.  There is a neutral drain in your transmission, that is designed to not spin until the motor pauses, which is what lifting the lid simulates.  It is designed this way, so that water won't whril pool up and over the outer tub when you have a light load and good strong clutch, causing a flood.

Also when you changed your clutch did you change this white plastic part out also?
