Fisher Paykel Dishwasher

Model #DD603-ss  This is a two drawer Fisher Paykel dishwasher. The water does not pump all the way out in either drawer.  The top one is worse than the bottom.  Can anyone tell me the proper way to take one of these apart?  The unit is just over two years old.  I did notice the owner is using liquid detergent.  According to the manual this unit should use powder only.  Could this have led to the problem?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks  Gregg

Hi Gregg. Too much detergent will cause the pump to suck suds and not pump out all the way. Run the drawer with water only and see how it pumps out. You can also put it into diagnostic mode and check each unit operation separately, including fill and pump out.

Based on your description, I would suspect accumulated gookus at the port where the drain hose empties (i.e., disposal port).

There's a manual for the DD603 in the Xdrive. You should download that and read through it, has some crucial info on disassembly. For a quick overview, this page will get you going-- it's for a DD602 but the DD603 is very similar if not identical in drawer removal.

Thanks for the help.  I've never accessed the x drive.  I don't recall getting an email about it.  Could you make sure I am on your list and send me instructions for accessing it.  Thanks again. Gregg

Gregg, PM me your email and I'll shoot it out to you.

Ok, Gregg, on it's way. Just click the link in the email and you'll go to a page where you set up your free Xdrive account. When you set up your account, be sure to include your first and last name; it defaults to ::private:: but if you don't add your name and I won't know who you are in my share list and I'll delete you. :(

Lemme know if you have any troubles! :dude:

OK Xfile account set up succesfully.  From here how do I access the manuals?  Currently all my folders are empty.  Sorry if I missed an earlier tutorial on this.  Gregg

If you're not seeing the manuals, then you may have not put your name in your account, in which case you have appeared in my share list as ::private::, which I routinely delete.

Double check your account settings, let me know, and I'll shoot the access link back out to you.

In xdrive under my account, my profile, my name shows up (Gregg Alderman).  Is this the right spot?  Do I have to do anything with my security settings(possibly allow pop ups)?

Gregg, I resent you the access link as well as the direct download link for the DD603 manual. Check your email.

since the f&p's actually have 2 drain hoses- u rubber Y connector is provided to join them together before they terminate into a drain pipe- also provided is a candy cane hose support to reatain the hoses prior to the drain connection. it is a common error to not use this candy cane device and over time/hot water/softening rubber- the y falls down as it supports the weight of the water in the hoses, this causes a drain restriction in both drawers and should be routed and secured so that the hoses do not pull down on the rubber Y connector.

Thanks,  The manuals now show up in xdrive.  Some seem to open some don't.  Many freeze up after opening.  Probably something to do with my securtity system. Is anyone else having these problems?

Thanks,  I checked the Y and the hanger.  All ok there.  I'm  guessing restrictions on the other end of the hoses.  I wasn't sure how to take the drawer apart.  Was able to access the manual earlier today.
