Sharp CV-P12LX not working properly after power failure

Recommended Posts

We have a Sharp portable AC CV-P12LX It was working great and then today we had a power failure. When it came back on, multiple lights were lit on front panel (mega cool and timer and operation). The only way we can turn it off is by unplugging it. If we push the power button on the remote, it just beeps and different lights turn on on the front panel. The only remote button that it even responds to is the power button but not to turn it on and off. It seems to change the mode from ac to something else. Has anyone had this issue?

Anyone have any info on this situation? Currently, when I plug in ac, it immediately beeps and turns on. If I push power button on unit, it beeps and changes setting (maybe from AC to fan), but will not turn off unless I unplug it. The only button that AC unit responds to on remote is the power button, and again, it just chabges the mode the unit is in from AC to fan or dehumidify. No other remote buttons do anything when pressed. Thanks.

Just an update. AC sat unplugged for 2 weeks while we were away. When we arrived, I plugged it in, and it immediately started functioning normally. Remote works great too. Guess it just needed to sit for a while.
