Returning guest presenter Aaron Wilson is back for another exciting discussion. This time, we'll be talking about...
The Science of CYA: How to Keep the Customer Safe, Document Your Work, and Not Get Sued
We take on a lot of liability as appliance repair techs, and that can get us into sticky situations whether we've done anything wrong or not. Aaron will be teaching us all about how to navigate this side of the trade.
We'll start by going over a tragic, real-world case study where a sloppy installation had lethal results, analyzing exactly how the installer's negligence caused this. From there, our scope will expand to what kind of safety precautions we should implement in our own work, both for the customer's sake and for our own.
But even if you do everything perfectly, there's still the famous "technician witch hunt." Well, we'll also talk about how to deal with that by thoroughly documenting your work and putting yourself beyond legal reproach.
A little about our guest, Aaron Wilson:
Aaron has been in the appliance repair trade for about 15 years, starting out by doing installations before moving on to bigger and better things. He worked for C&W Services as a Sub-Zero authorized servicer for a time and thereafter joined Mr. Appliance of Highland Park in the Dallas area, where he worked for years as the lead technician and field service manager. These days, he's making sure that all the appliances of everyone's favorite fried chicken place are in tip-top shape as the Quality and Performance Consultant for the southwest branch of Chick-fil-A. In addition, he has taught many classes on refrigeration repair and advanced diagnostics, during which time he also developed training material for the soft skills side of things, which he is delighted to share with you. On top of all that he's a certified graduate of the Master Samurai Tech Academy, so he knows his stuff!

Wanted: Service manual that covers this GE samsung built PFSS6SKXBSS

Posted (edited)

Patricio! You didn't do a truncated wildcard search for this manual in the download or open forums?? You mean you didn't even do a simple search of the download forum for Samsung GE??

I guess I have to paste the info normally reserved for rookies or lazy techs. You certainly aint no rookie... so don't tell me you've become a lazy tech! I can't believe that...so maybe you should turn in your stripes and be considered a rookie again... then the following info reserved for rookies would be for you...

There appears to be a manual or a compatible manual in the download section. We ask our members to check the download section prior to requesting technical documents. If you have not already done so, make sure to watch the screencast entitled "searching for technical documents" found here :http://appliantology.org/topic/51337-getting-started-at-appliantology/. Pay close attention to the section discussing truncated and wildcard searches.

Also don't forget to search the forums as you may find topics that may point you to a compatible technical document file or you may even find topics that address your specific issues.

If you have already searched and have been unsuccessful in locating a compatible technical document, please let us know. Many times a manufacturer will not list all the models covered by a manual and sometimes may only list the model family. Therefore, it may be difficult for us to determine if you model is covered or not unless we look at the document, pull a parts schematic on your model and a listed model to see if they match. You are in a much better position to do this in a timely manner as you should already be familiar, to some extent, with your model's layout.

Thanks! .

Durham there is not a manual for A PFSS6...S  Found a multi manual for a several different models including a PFSS6...P

My question is has anybody come across a model with the S.   Sometimes the different models are different.

Just maybe somebody other than you has come across this manual & can share kindness rather than bitterness.

Did you even look at the manual? Did you check to see if it is compatible? So you want us to do that for you? Did you mention in your initial request that you even checked the GE Samsung manual in the dl section? It's not bitterness.. it's disbelief
