Bosch Dishwasher SGS09A08GB/11 limescale deposits

Hi there,

I'm back after some time with yet another issue with my 10y old Bosch dishwasher.

Few days ago I run several cycles in a row and found the inside of the dishwasher - and what was inside it - covered in what I believe was limescale. I sprayed some limescale remover on a small section of the door, left it there a few minutes and wiped the fluid and the metal was shiny again - this is why I believe it was limescale.

I then run a dishwasher cleaner and all went sparkly again.

Yesterday I had a similar issue after a quick rinse cycle. Not so sever as I only run one cycle.

My water is pretty hard, salt is set at maximum - always been. There is salt in the reservoir (Finish salt). The dishwasher worked fine for a few cycles after I run the cleaner so it seems that things are still somehow working inside.

Is there anything I can do? I believe some salt is dispensed at every cycle to regenerate the resins, maybe the dispenser is intermittent?

This is a glass out of the dishwasher (it is not 'worn out', it should be very shiny)

This is the door

Any help appreciated!

Thanks!

Good pics, common problem. Some questions:

1. What kind of detergent are you using?

2. Are you using rinse aid?

3. Are you pre-rinsing the dishes before you run them in the dishwasher?

Homework assignment:

Dip a cloudy glass halfway into a bowl of vinegar for a couple of minutes. Rinse, dry and post another photo of the glass.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

1. Finish powder. No "all in one".

2. Yes

3. No

When I have another cloudy run I'll run the vinegar test. However I did spray some limescale remover on a small area of the door after it happened. With no cleaning action it came up shiny after just a minute, just wiping away the limescale remover. This is why I feel it's limescale and not salt.

Hi

This hasn't happened again.

I remember I've seen this before, at the office.

What is causing that? How is it possible that one wash cycle is fine and another is not?

Hi there,

It's happened again today even though it didn't leave much staines on the dishes.

Then I poured a little vinegar on the door, left it there for a while, then washed with softened water - so not to leave residues.

Result is below. It's indeed limescale.

Can someone please tell me why this is happening randomly? Repair Man, any help? You teased me and then disappeared! :)
