Plastic rot Whirlpool GHW9200LW

My wonderful son got us a older Duet pair for Christmas off of Craigs list. Everything worked when he bought them.

When we got them installed I noticed that the "Control on" button was pushed in at an angle.  Found the directions for removal on the old site and found that most of the tabs

on the ABS plastic that hold everything in place had snapped off. So, now I'm without the three major buttons. Control on, Pause / Cancel, and Hold to Start.

All the parts diagrams show this as being the control circuit board at about $260.00, ( Part Number AP3128748 )

Question - Can I just get the ABS plastic piece that holds the circuit board, buttons, and other stuff, or am I out $260.00?

Only way to get the buttons and plastic control board housing that some of the buttons are actually a molded part of is by purchasing an complete new control/user interface board.

The other option is go on E-bay and purchase used one for as cheap as you can, you don't care if it works or not just that all the plastic housing and buttons are OK.

It wouldn't even have to be the exact same model just close enough that it has the same control buttons in same places.  You would be swapping your electronics into the good housing.

I have repair some of these before depending on how much of the plastic pieces are left and how badly broken.  Super-glue what you can back into place, (back the parts you are trying to secure back in place with piece of backing tape behind button parts.  When dry put a bead of silicone rubber material around the edges of the button pieces to make hold it all in place and make it flexible when dry.

Leave the tape on the back, just cut out a place in the middle of the button area so the tape doesn't contact the micro-button before the pad is pressed.

Many thanks

Would not have thought to look on Ebay for something like this. Typed in Whirlpool washer user interface and found the exact part complete for about $70. Had pics, front and back and looks in perfect shape! Mine was in such bad shape there was not enough pieces to glue back together.

Once again, Thanks!!!
