My Bosch oven (10 yrs old) door locked during cooking. error message "SVL EE CHIP/ CkT BAD OR RTDS NOT CAL".

We unlocked it with a screwdriver and began googling what could be wrong & testing it. Temperature sensor is good. Tested the door locking assembly with a multimeter (set to 20K) & got a .025 reading so I think that is good. Please tell me if there is something else I could test on it.

It also could be the control board but if this part is 489262, it is no longer available.  Is there any way I can test any of the parts out on this display/main control board & replace any part of it?

And could it be that I need part 489273? How would I know?

I called 2 service men who wouldn't come because they said that parts aren't available & I have to get a new oven.

Any ideas?

OK this is what I rcvd in email (since you lost some stuff on your website...) Maybe it'll help someone else with the same problem....

See if the control will enter service mode:

MANUAL TEST ACCESS PROCEDURE: 1. Press CANCEL key.
2. Turn the knob 4 detents CW.
3. Turn the knob 6 detents CCW.
4. Press START key.
5. The writing MANUAL TEST is displayed.

If it won't, then this confirms you need the control board. You will need to send the board off to have it rebuilt.

..........

Now my response --

Any idea who would do this (rebuilding control board) or how much it will cost?

Pressing the "Cancel" or any button does not work. A lot of people that replaced the board, unfortunately, said it wasn't the problem, so I had to ask....

But I guess I probably need a new oven :(
