Kenmore He2 Plus 110.47532602 - won't spin, bearing or...?

greetings, all!

i'm in the midst of tearing down our washer to resolve a stuck tub/basket. want to make sure there's no simple solution before going all the way to the bearing!?

it's a kenmore he2 plus 110.47532602 frontloader.

initial symptom - ruptured belt. then i realized couldn't spin tub. completed locked up between inner and outer, no wiggle. initial look for socks or nails caught between found nothing. figured it was bearing, pulled of back and unbolted to reveal bearing, but there's no sign of anything busted.  a tiny bit of rust underneath, but not much. and no reports of loud sounds giving indication of bearing going bad.

then though might be more obscure stuck object, looked around with flashlight, no sign of anything.  everything actually seems in decent shape.

so -- is there a brake or something in there -- i think that is only in direct drive but not sure...?

other ideas in next hour or so before i pull her apart completely?

thanks a ton everyone!

Sounds like a probable broken drum support spider structure:

well, it's all apart, and i've got the pics to show it. :) but it'll take me a bit to get those uploaded, and i've got to run.

here's the update and my followup question.

taking the outer tub apart, a little rock fell out! seems it was caught somewhere invisible / inaccessible. spider looks fine, if a bit dirty. outer bearing spins fine.

however, the inner bearing (ie. closer to front) feels rough/sticky and makes a sound as it turns. my question: i assume this is a sign that it's starting to go. my assumption is that since i've got it apart, i should fix this issue preemptively. yes??

secondly, i've seen disagreement about whether to replace bearings (i'd do both, i imagine, plus seals) or whether you have to repalce the whole rear of the outer tub. for this model, what's the verdict? OR should i just put her back together and prepare to buy a new one?

i'd prefer to repair, partially because of money but also the ethics of repair vs. disposable.

thoughts?

thanks! (pics to come...)
