Hello all,

I just recently found out my dishwasher was part of the www.dishwashersettlement.com litigation. While we have never had an issue with the control board, just knowing it could catch fire won't allow me to run it when nobody is around. I was wondering if anyone knew if the latest version of the electronic control board would allow me to sleep at night. I'd rather not replace the whole dishwasher. Of course Whirlpool won't say anything as then that would be an admission that it was defective. The part that is in the washer now is 8534867, the new part is listed as 8564543.

Thanks.

So let me ask you....do the remedies,  of which you qualify that are  provided in the class action  include the price of replacing. the board?

"if you are included in the Settlement, you may qualify for a variety of benefits including a rebate on the purchase of a new dishwasher, and reimbursement for expenses incurred due to past or future dishwasher overheating events."

I think if a board  replacement was sufficient,  it would be specifically listed as opposed to providing a rebate for the purchase of a new machine although this could be model specific.

there are reasons why we ask for a model number..among other things it aids us tremendously when  researching. Although  you may deem it unimportant under the circumstances, you are doing yourself a disservice by not providing it.

Do to the potential risk,   my suggestion is to replace the dishwasher if the remedy provides as much.
