Sammie that error code is an over-level water error.   you need to 1.) check the connections for the over flow sensor connector. see if its disconnected in anyway and also disconnect and reconnect the connection.  2.) check and make sure the water inlet valve is working properly.(is there alien particals in the valve that should not be there and if so replace the valve, is the water valve letting water in when it not energized. It can even be small amounts of water getting in)  3.) check for any water leakage traces on the top of the Case Sensor. Clean the hose sensor and the case sensor. Disconnect the overflow sensor and see if the dishwasher still detects the over level water error. Its normal if it doesnt occur.   NORMAL: Replace the assy. case brake w/ flowmeter         FAULTY: Replace the main PBA assy.

These parts I am telling you about are located on the lower left side of the dishwasher. The dishwasher needs to be completely pulled out and re hooked up again while the dishwasher is un installed.  Then you can remove the left side panel and gain access to these parts. You should always have drain hose and water line extentions along with line power extensions handy in your truck if the exsisting hoses and feed lines are not long enough . This way, you can always run a dishwasher out from underneath the counter top if need be during your diagnosis process. You want to also observe what process is going on with the dishwasher exactly when the error code appears ,which at times can be quite helpful and informative in the diagnosis process.

Case sensor:

Part number: AP5176868

Part number: AP5176868

Like bro Darren says, the fast track manual lists this, the water valve, and the PBA as possible faulty parts. If it's not actually overfilling or letting in water erroneously, then I highly suspect the case sensor.

are you calling the water level sensor the case sensor or are they two different parts.

The case sensor includes the water level sensor.

Dishwasher started to show the OE code three weeks after repair.   Continued to wash for a few  days with the code showing and then quit.  Could that still be caused by the water level sensor?

Sammie first off I hope you are looking at a service repair guide / fast track sheets to begin with.  you need to cancel any existing error codes in the memory and run it through a diagnostic test mode and see what you come up with for errors during diagnostics of the components.  Clear the codes and run a cycle and pay attention to what process the dishwasher is in when the moment the error occurs  if it does occur again.  Did the error occur after filling  , during filling, the beginning of the pumping cycle etc. that can tell you alot also.  Did you disconnect the overflow sensor and run a cycle to see if the error did not occur again. If the error code does not come up again after disconnecting the overflow sensor then its normal . if it does re occur after disconnecting it, that will mean the electronic control board is bad.    you have to rule out foreign particles in case brake again and rule out any malfunctioning of the water inlet valve as mentioned in the above message.  If thats all good and the case brake with flow meter had already been changed then you most likely have a malfunctioning control board..
