I have a Maytag gas dryer model number  MGDC200XW2.  The flame isn't coming on everytime I run the dryer, it's hit and miss.

After some research I replaced the solenoid but is still not getting flame every time. One of the guys down at my local supply store thought it might be the fuse so I replaced it and now when it does get flame the temp in the dryer feels hotter than it was but still it isn't igniting the flame every time.

Now I'm wondering if it isn't the flame igniter, I took it down  to the shop where I  have been getting the supplies for my dryer  and they checked  the igniter for me and said it was good.  But should the glow igniter glow the whole time that the dryer is running whether the gas is being ignited or not?

I guess what I'm wondering is even though the wires are still good on the igniter can the element be going out on it?

Thanks to any and all replies any help is greatly appreciated.

I appreciate the replys, I  went ahead and replaced the igniter but it is still hit and miss so I will replace the sensor tomorrow.   Practically a brand new dryer!

Do some voltage checks at lower harness. your looking  for 120 volts to burner harness.

I just had one that had a bad timer. worked in auto cycles. no heat in manual mode. no power at all in fluff.
