Does this model washer have a soak cycle that's not listed on the control panel? I had a friend tell me it wasn't washing the clothes fully. I tested a load and it goes into the first agitation cycle and agitates for a bit, then stops. I hear the timer moving, and eventually it moves into the spin/drain cycle. It will fill back up then agitate the clothes for the full amount of time before moving back into the final spin/drain cycle and stopping. The clothes are spun out properly.

I'm just wondering if that first time the agitation cycle ends and the washer doesn't do anything, is that supposed to happen? Is it soaking the clothes? I know some washers do this, especially the older ones, but usually it will say that somewhere on the control panel.

Thank you!

The second portion of the wash is a slower agitate, uses a different speed on the motor, could be issue with timer, motor or wiring

Replacing the timer did the same thing. I suppose it could be the motor, but if so, wouldn't it fall in other ways then too?

Does it spin in the delicate cycle, I think that uses the same winding as slow agitate

Hm. When is the delicate cycle? It seems to spin when it's supposed to spin.

Fill with water and see if it agitates in the delicate cycle

It does not spin on the delicate cycle. Is that a motor issue? Or a transmission issue?

Motor or wiring

What does the tech sheet indicate ........What cycle did you test in???..............normal, heavy duty, delicate????

Posted

It spin in normal and heavy duty, but not delicate. Agitates for half of the first wash cycle on normal and heavy, and fully on the second wash cycle. Does nothing on delicate.

WITH THE INFORMATION YOU PROVIDED, MOST OF THE TIME YOU WILL HAVE THE LOW SPEED BAD ON YOUR MOTOR

OK. I replaced the motor which now gets it to spin on the delicate cycle, but it still won't agitate throughout the entire first wash cycle on the normal setting.

Turns out the new motor does not have it spin on delicate cycle. Any other suggestions?
