My wife wants to buy a new one, but I haven't given up yet.

My dishwasher starts its cycle and will fill with water for less than a minute or so before the bottom wash arm engages. the bottom arm spins but the upper two wash arms never really get going.   After around 90 seconds, the water shuts off and there is no water coming to bottom wash arm at all.  it continues on with it's cycle as if nothing is wrong.

I've verified the water supply is free of kinks.  It's getting good flow and sufficient pressure.  I've replaced the water inlet valve and that didn't help a thing.  when the water is filling the basin, it doesn't fill up enough to even reach the cover of the float.  Could the float switch be bad and killing the water too early?

Any other ideas?  my wife wants to buy a new one, but i can't let her win that easy.  any help is appreciated

thanks for the quick reply...

the motor is running, but there is not enough water in the basin for it to circulate with.  it barely spits out anything from the bottom wash arm.  am i wrong in thinking that the basin should fill with enough water to at least reach the float?

thanks again

On your model the water should fill to just under the heating element. If the water isn't filling properly a possible water valve or supply valve problem could exist.Part number: WD15X10003

Sorry, I should read the posts better... if you have changed the water valve and checked for good pressure to the dishwasher then Ivasquez11's suggestion is the way to go.

If you suspect it's not filling enough you could add more water to it to see if it sprays properly at the spray arms? Fill it to the bottom of the float and see what happens. That'd be an easy test to verify that the motor is working properly.
