I have a Whirlpool Cabrio WTW5700XW2 Vertical Modular Washer.  I noticed my clothes weren't fully spinning out on the final spin cycle.  I got error code F7 E1.  I performed the automatic and manual tests and everything seems fine while empty.  It spins on high speed perfectly.  I do hear a slight clicking noise at spin high speed.  I cleared the code and watched a load of laundry.  On the final spin of the load it completes a slow speed spin.  Then it switches to a high speed spin for the final drying.  As the basket picks up speed I hear a click and then it starts to wobble and then the lid lock starts flashing and throws the F7 E1 code.  After the click the basket seems to sway a lot, but I think it may be because the spin cycle stopped abruptly throwing the tub out of whack.  I have been doing online research like crazy and a lot of people say to replace the shift actuator.  I am happy to swap it out for $40, but I am not 100% convinced this is the issue.  The clicking noise at high speed leads me to believe it may be something else.  Any guidance you can provide is greatly appreciated.

I appreciate the response.  I just ran the machine empty without issues and no clicking sound.  It seems to only have an issue with wet cloths in it.  I will replace the shift actuator and go from there.

It is aways a good idea to do a VMW calibration after doing anything to these washer.Even if you change the shifter. It tell you how in the Tech.Sheet. Only takes a couple minutes.
