GE Advantium Model PSA2201RSS dead/replaced TCO

Recommended Posts

Hello,

After reading the many helpful topics on the TCO in the GE Advantium, I decided to order a new TCO and see if I could fix mine (completely dead).  When I opened up my control panel, there are actually 3 TCOs, but the bottom one did in fact test open, so I replaced it with my genuine GE TCO.  Still no power.  All of the TCOs check good, and the other two fuses I can see from the control panel test good.  Any other ideas as to what may be my problem?

Most of the TCO's out there don't de-energize the entire machine... so I would start with my meter and follow the 120v AC from the wall outlet, through the "pigtail," and find where the voltage ends. I suspect TCO problems when a failure follows a self-clean or run away temperature situation, in both cases, the TCO being open will be a symptom of the original heating issue, not the source of the problem. Follow the fundamentals and avoid taking stabs at random parts and you will find the guilty party...
