Greetings,

My dishwasher has a greasy film on the front portion of the floor/bottom of the enclosure (closest to the door). The back of the floor and the sides are all fine. The dishes and silverware come out clean and do not have any film on them.  Nor do the racks.  Just the bottom of the compartment in the front.  The film goes rearward just about as far as the strainer for the drain.  It drains completely every time with no residual water.  I do not use a rinse aid, and occasionally I add a tbsp of food grade citric acid powder during the rinse cycle to keep the spots off the silverware and glassware.  It's pretty much the same stuff that is in "Glisten".  It makes the dishes and the rest of the compartment shine, but doesn't see to cut the greasy film on the front. For detergent, I use Finish "all in one" pre-packaged "cakes".

Any thoughts or suggestions welcome. Thank you.

r\Run it through a high-temp wash cycle with no dishes in it, you want to be sure that grease isnt slowly packing your drain hose... Looking in the drain hose after detaching it from the disposal, or pipe it is clamped to, will give you an idea if it is filling with greasy plaque like old Grandpa's arteries... HOT water is the best way to clear the grease, be sure to replace the drain hose and clamp it tight again after inspection.

Hiroshi,  Thanks for the quick reply. I truly appreciate your time.  Yes, I DID run it on a high temp wash with no dishes.  Same thing.  Interestingly enought though as I mentioned, it's only on the FRONT portion of the bottom and no where else.  Also, when the enclosure is dry, the fil is dry and NOT greasy, but some what powder-ish.  I t is only when it is wet that it appears greasy.

probably just a variation in the plastic during manufacturing then, or it is being affected by proximity to the heater, if it is working fine otherwise, I would say Wash Onward!

Forgot to mention. Stainless.  (My stainless is stained. :))  Yes it cleans fine. I think I'll try and manually clean it off, and see what happens.  it could something dumb like my son putting a bicycle chain or the like in the dishwasher to clean it, and he is just not fessing up... :).

Thanks again for the reply.
