OUR SAMSUNG CLOTHES WASHER, WF218ANWXAA, WON'T START ON ANY CYCLE.

FIRST WE PUSH THE POWER BUTTON, THE CONTROL BOARD LIGHTS UP.

THEN SELECT A CYCLE, THEN PUSH START, THE MACHINE HUMS, DOOR LOCKS, THEN AFTER 10 SECONDS, HUM STOPS AND DOOR UNLOCKS.

AFTER A FEW SECONDS THIS CYCLE REPEATS OVER AND OVER UNTIL EVENTUALLY NOTHING MORE HAPPENS.

EACH TIME WE PUSH START, NO WATER ENTERS THE TUB, NO AGITATNG OR SPIN. JUST THE HUM.

THIS PROBLEM OCCURS ALSO ON THE SPIN ONLY CYCLE.

WE KNOW THE WATER IS ON.  WE DIDN'T NOTICE ANY ERROR CODE.

Can you rotate the drum by hand? Is there resistance? Is the drum perfectly centered when you inspect it from the front with the door open? The 'hum' is likely the sound of the motor TRYING to move, but being unable to... Also did the machine make any noises prior to complete failure? loud spin?

I think Hiroshi is heading in the right direction... we should rule out bearing or drum support failure:

will check the drum when I'm back at the house
