Hi,

I have an Asko T700 Dryer that is a 2002 model.

I have personally replaced drum rollers, belts, motor brushes.

Rerouted vent hose to be a straight shot out of the house 2 feet long.

The dryer dryed clothes much faster after the shorter vent install but......

I noticed the dryer had moved forward and become dislodged from the vent pipe.

I pushed the dryer forward while grasping the dryer from the top right and felt an electrical shock in my hand.

No breaker was tripped but the dryer will do nothing as well as my Asko 620 washer is dead

No lights, no hum, no nothing but I do have 2 legs of 120 volts measured off the dryer pigtail at connection box

I need some help please..........Thanks for listening.

Rick

This dryer has two 15A fuses. They should be in the back by the line cord. Check those.

David,

I bypassed both fuses several years ago and it has been running fine until now.

Thanks for the quick reply

Also checked the high limit Thermostat on the back of dryer

Note to self: Never bypass fuses like that, that shock could have been your last, my friend. I had a buddy that wedged a nickel into the slot to bypass a bad fuse in his Honda, the Honda caught fire on the highway, he got burned hands and a ruined car for his trouble!

Note to Hiroshi:

After the fuses blew 3 times and melted the fuse holders twice I called for Asko service.

The Asko service guy came out and performed a factory-authorized bypass of the fuses, and fixed the unit in 10 mins flat.

Any other ideas  on why the dryer will not power up?

Thanks,

Rick
