Samsung Fridge Ice Maker not working - RF28HDEDBSR

The ice maker stopped producing ice but I am able to dispense water.  The "ice maker off" light is not illuminated.  I pressed the reset button for 3 seconds but it did not work. I ran the self diagnostic process and it gave me a 39 E error code. I appreciate your help.

Service manual defines 39 as an internal icemaker failure. It is likely a short in the heater - the icemaker is cooked. It is important to install the new icemaker with unit unplugged or powered off at the breaker. Restore power only after the new icemaker is installed.

I was afraid that the whole thing would be fried.  Hopefully there isn't a secondary problem. Thanks for your help.

this icemaker is attached to a refrigerant line.  You must defrost the icemaker prior to separaring the line from the icemaker prior to removing the icemaker otherwise you run the risk of destroying your fridge.

I found removal instructions online and it looks like the refrigerant is an oval coil that slips around a metal baffle in the middle of the icemaker. I was able to move the coil out of the way as it was not frozen to the ice maker itself.

Thank you Durhamappliance for that cautionary note - and good work David.
