Hi, Microwave will not turn on at all. Heres what I found so far.

  • in line fuse bad (open)
  • One of the 3 micro switches for the door is bad, the NC one which is together with a NO switch is closed all the time which I believe is why the fuse blew.

I am looking for the part numbers for all 3 switches and the fuse. Im not sure if there is any more to check as I do not see any bad connectors . Are there any hi current limits that dont reset and if so where are they?

Thanks,

James

Actually, all the switches are working correctly. I reinstalled housing and removed wires and opened and closed door several times and they all work correctly repeatedly

something had to cause the fuse to blow. Now im thinking something worse is at the root cause other than the door switches which checked out fine. Also, repair clinic.com cant seem to bring up the parts for a Panasonic NN-SN745S microwave. only gets 747S .... are they the same? there are 2 gray microswitches together at bootom and one black micro swithch on top--help?

Replaced the fuse with a 20A 250V ceramic fuse for microwaves and its working. This is an exact replacement fuse(you can get a bag of 4 from Radio Shack) for $3.70. ill keep an eye on it as this microwave isnt even a year old. Would still appreciate any specific troubleshooting links or part numbers for this microwave as Im anticipating the fuse possibly going again and having an intermittent issue

If the primary and secondary door switches are out of sync for a split second the 'monitor' switch will blow the fuse... Check that the door latch hooks are clean and operable, if the user stops the machine by opening the door to interrupt operation, it increases the chance of this happening... If you lose the fuse again, make sure the door switch holder is not allowing the switches to move out of place- you can buy the switches separately:  Part number: QSWMA085WRE0.
