My problem is similar to a previous topic titled Maytag MFI2568AES Ref French Doors dated 6/1/07. My problem occurred after a potential power surge with the following symptoms. Continuously flashing front panel lights, ice door flapping continuously, lack of responsiveness to any button on the door, and no ice or water dispenses. I removed the HV Control Board Part # W10213583 and inspected the three 270 uf capacitors. Previous posts have indicated these capacitors might have failed in similar Control Boards. The tops of the capacitors were still flat (the article indicated if the tops were bulging up, it was a sure sign of failure). I reinstalled the HV Control Board and plugged the refrigerator back in. It ran fine with everything working for about 1 1/2 hours. Then the temperature alarm went off and the refrigerator temperature started flashing between 38 degrees and 59 degrees and freezer temperature started flashing between 0 degrees and 27 degrees. Two of the 270 uf capacitors became very hot to the touch and one was warm. I replaced all three of the 270 uf capacitors with two 220 uf and one 470 uf. I reinstalled the control board and plugged the refrigerator back in. While there was power to the refrigerator, because the interior light worked when the door was opened, nothing else worked. The fan or compressor never came on and there were no lights on the front panel. Any ideas as to what the problem is would be greatly appreciated. I have no way of checking the HV Control Board to see if it is bad. I'm reluctant to buy a new HV Control Board if that is not the problem. I learned that the HV Control Board Part # W10213583, has been replaced with Part # W10310240.

Interface issues as well as the possessed ice door are indeed symptoms of a faulty HV control board, and replacing the control will exorcise the problem.

Yes, the component at location VR-1 goes bad, resulting in blinking and perpetual ice door flapping!

Thank you to P Duff and Hiroshi for your input. I thought that replacing the control borad might be the next step, but just wanted some confirmation before I spent the

$ and that didn't fix the problem.

As a follow up to the advice given, I ordered a new HV control board and installed it. The refrigerator is running fine with everything working as it should. Thank you again for those who gave advice on how to fix the problem.

Does anyone have the programming instruction sheet for this board? Somebody stole it from the box.
