I have replaced the timer, coupler, transmission, clucth and the brake assembly and when the machine transitions from wash to spin the water pump runs but does not spin until i open and close the lid or push in and pull out the timer knob. Did i put the trans in right because it had a note stating not to pull the shaft out too far and i may have done that, if so how do i fix it ,if it could be the problem

Thanks

Were these parts new factory parts?

That's how the neutral drain works, if you let the cycle run on its own without interruption the timer should briefly stop the motor after it drains to start the spin

Yes, the machine is supposed to drain some first, as drain must lead spin to achieve high speed and keep water from slinging out over the tub...
