DCS Model RG466GD Low gas volume in oven

Recommended Posts

Posted

Turn on oven and it will only heat up to about 175 degrees.  Burner looks good, nice blue flame but at low volume.   Thermostat is new.  The griddle works just fine.  Could I need to replace Dual Thermal valve  13053

Thanks for the help

Was the oven working? Are you sure it is set up for the right type of gas?

Posted

It was working fine for many years.    Just one day the oven will not come up to temp.  The gas flow is very low....just a small blue flame on the entire burner.

I would either Look at the amp draw of the ignitor, or, if I didn't have an amp clamp, try a new ignitor.

IMO, you don't need the outrageously priced OEM ignitor; you may be able to save significantly by finding an equivalent ignitor. It needs to be the same flat style with the same size ceramic tail.

You were correct, it was the ignitor!  Replaced it and all is fine again.   Thank you for your professional help.
