Panasonic Microwave - only timer count; no fan, turntable, heat

Recommended Posts

The Panasonic Inverter microwave (SN668) stops working the other day. When I opened the door, the light came on then popped.
The timer still works. It starts counting down. But, the microwave is not doing anything. Fan and turntable not moving.

I tested all 3 switches... Looks OK. Both prim and secondary closed when pressed. Inter switch open when pressed.
The bulb is burnt out. When I open the door and test for any voltage between the bulb connectors and found no voltage!!!
Between one connector and the chassis, it reads 110v. The other connector doesn't seem to get grounded.
Is it a problem with the circuit board? or the Relay?

Any feedback is appreciated.

Thanks,
Terry

Sounds like the monitor switch may have blown your line-fuse... The switches will test good in that case, as a blown line fuse indicates the switches are working as designed...

Thanks for the reply.

Are you referring to the fuse at the AC power board? I tested the fuse and it is OK as the front LED panel has power... timer did count down.

There is usually several fuses in the heating circuit, check the diagram inside the cabinet- Look for the Oven Thermal Cut-out and test that sucker

Did you remove the switches when u tested them? If so test them again with them installed just disconnect one terminal from the switch, put your meter on the switch spades and open and shut the door. They usually only fail right where the door hold them but will test good if pressed harder on lighter.
