Hi, my Bosch side-by-side fridge/freezer's display is dead. I rang out all the wires from the display to the control modul - all OK. Since the wiring schematic for this one does not give any technical information at all, troubleshooting is impossible. For example: Which voltages (voltage level and kind - AC or DC) is produced by the power module going to the control modules? Does anybody have any info about that? Or, is anybody selling the service manual for this one? It is called  "Bosch Freestanding Refrigerator X-Cool SBS V2 Service Manual". I'm willing to pay for it.

Thank you!

Hubert

BoschFlowChart- für Reparaturanleitungen.pdf

Here is a page from the manual... It states the first step in a "no display" situation is to unplug the machine to reset the DOM, the flow chart says to look for 9vDC at pins 1 & 3 of the display module...

Unplugging the machine didn't do anything. I don't have 9VDC on pins 1-3 of the display; instead the measured value (in DC mode) seems to fluctuate quickly - cannot really capture anything on a digital multimeter. I also checked the 12VDC supposed to be supplied to pins 1-2 of connector X6 of board #26 in the wiring diagram - absolutely nothing ther 0V.   Any advice? Thank you! Hubert

I just unplugged the 9V supply and fed it from a 9VDV Battery. Voila, the Display came alife and after 10 seconds it shows a fault code E 21 . Could you please tell me what that means? Thank you! Hubert

Follow the flow-chart, next step is to follow the wires from DOM pins 1-3 to there origin on the CM. If the CM is showing 9V, but the voltage isn't reaching the DOM, you may have broken wires...The wires likely run up through the freezer door hinge which is a common breaking point for wiring on many models over the years, but if you are missing proper voltage at several locations,  It is sounding like you may need a new Power Module, it is the board responsible for supplying the other two (DOM and CM).

Hi, I took of all the connectors off of all the modules and rang out all the wires - all OK. What I then did was measuring the outgoing voltages of power supply module (No 25 on the wire diagram). Even after disconnecting everything, the 9V output still shows that quickly fluctuating signal and the 12V output shows 0V . My question: Is it OK to try to measure these voltage when the outputs are open (meaning no load)? If that's OK, does that mean then that the power supply module is defective?

Thanks again so much for your help!

Yes, the voltages should be steady and measurable with, or without, a load on them... I believe you have found the culprit:  Power Module.
